The Water & Mud Treatment Building with a water tower (German: Wasserturm Rauschen) is a 25-meter high building constructed between 1900 and 1908 according to the design of the architect Otto Walter Kuсkuсk. Built in the National Romantic style it became a dominant landmark and an organizing element of the upper, "dune" part of Rauschen.

The tower served to supply Rauschen with water drawn from springs near the Mill Pond (now Lake Tikhoe). The water & mud treatment facility offered warm sea and carbon dioxide baths, as well as mud, electric, light therapy, and therapeutic massage.

In 1978 the tower was decorated with a sundial created by the Svetlogorsk artist and monumental sculptor N.P. Frolov.

Under the helmet-shaped roof of the tower there is an observation deck offering views of the city and surrounding areas. Currently, the tower along with the operating water & mud treatment facility belongs to the Svetlogorsk Military Sanatorium.

This is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance and is under state protection. Individuals who cause damage to this cultural heritage object are subject to criminal, administrative, and other liability under the laws of the Russian Federation.
